Kolibri has been an integral part of our offline content platform since early 2018. It has helped enhance the teaching and learning experience on the My sCool Server.
With the release of Kolibri v0.13 a host of new features elevate the entire coaching experience to a new level. Some of these enhancements are –

- High-performance integration for Debian / Ubuntu distributions
- Accessibility improvements such as video transcripts and keyboard navigation
- Enhanced coach module w.r.t. usability speed and reporting.

High Performance kolibri-server
Kolibri delivers increased performance on the existing MSS systems. This is a key highlight for My sCool Server users. kolibri-server
enhancement in this release has some specific features like “static content cache” and “optimized usage of the CPU processing power” in multi core devices. For example, a standard My sCool Server device has 2 CPU cores, and with kolibri-server
it will likely be able to serve 2-3 times more client devices compared to base Kolibri. Find out more details in the package repository’s Readme.
The integrated roll-out
The My sCool Server team makes available the latest Kolibri from Learning Equality for its users. Hence, herein we announce the integrated release of Kolibri v0.13 along with high performance kolibri-server
support on the MSS.
For those using Kolibri v0.12.x and are comfortable with updating packages on Ubuntu Linux may update it on their own. Just connect the MSS to the internet and execute the following in a Terminal after logging in as user ‘mssadmin’ –
sudo apt install kolibri-server
